This seminar deals with a variety of topics related to the acquisition of spoken language. Articles on the following research areas within speech acquisition will be presented by individual participants and discussed in the group: (1) phonological development in first language acquisition; (2) second dialect acquisition in adolescence and within-speaker sound change; (3) second language acquisition in early and late bilinguals; (4) the role of exposure, experience and input on acquisition as wells the role of the two speech modalities production and perception; (5) the aging voice and the decline of spoken language.
