Welcome to the course "Methods and Theories in Information Systems (ManTIS)"!
This course is designed to introduce students to the most common paradigms, methods and processes used in research within the field of Information Systems. The knowledge gained will help the students in preparing and conducting not only their seminar or final theses, but any type of research project. (Note: This course needs to be taken by students who successfully applied for a final thesis at our junior professorship at the beginning of the “Exposé Phase”.)

Course Procedure:
- Material:
All necessary learning materials can be found in the following sections and are available at all times independent of each semester. You will find the following kinds of material:- Videos: Short videos for you to watch, where the content will be explained by a lecturer.
- Slides: Slides to the videos, for you to look things up or download and take notes with.
- Quizzes: A little quiz which you can take to test your knowledge.
- Additional Material: Helpful materials, such as links to tool or books.
- Forum:
Please post your questions and comments about any of the materials provided into the forum. This way all the students taking this course are able to see the corresponding response.
- Grading:
This course will not be graded, however it is mandatory to complete the course before starting the “official” thesis process at our junior professorship.
