Educational Technology (EduTech) is a mandatory 1st winter semester lecture It will meet weekly and is taken in conjunction with the EduTech design challenge. Most likely, this will be your first course of the entire program. The first day features a general introduction to studying at Saarland University. You will meet tutors and your fellow students.
The EduTech lecture will cover the following topics:

- Behaviorism, Cognitivism, Constructivism
- Learner-centered theories of instruction, such as inquiry-based learning and design-based learning
- The potential of and challenges to new technology enabling this pedagogy on a large scale
- Issues of cognition and motivation in educational technology
